Career Workshop by Pratham

Career Workshop - PRATHAM

A career oriented workshop was organized in the school premises on April 27, 2023 for the students of grade XI and XII.

The workshop was conducted to impart knowledge about the Common University Entrance Test including the vocational courses and emerging careers for the students of grade XI and XII.

Mr. Bineet Kumar Binod from PRATHAM, the speaker, went over all the pertinent information with the students, including the following: the knowledge needed to appear for CUET; career opportunities in various fields of study; the evolving professions; and what criteria should be used to choose a field of study. It was an informative session for the students wherein they had their doubts addressed regarding CUET.

    German Workshop at the Max Mueller Bhavan

    Students attended a German Workshop on 20th April 2023 at the Max Mueller Bhavan,  the topic of which was “Moving images”. During the Workshop they learned how to create a stop motion movie along with the help of cut outs and an app. All the students were divided into groups and were given different topics such as football, waste management, and writing a recipe. Each group showed their creativity and made a short stop motion movie with the help of materials provided. Later, they were asked to present their movie in front of everyone.This was a fun learning session for all the students present from numerous schools across Delhi.  All the students were rewarded with the participation certificates.

      Climate Clock Assembly and Display event

      Climate Clock Assembly and Display event

      To bring awareness about the climate change, a workshop was conducted on Climate Clock Assembly and Display event organized by the “Energy Swaraj Foundation” on the occasion of Earth Day celebration, 22nd April, 2023, at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Twenty-one students attended the workshop accompanied by Ms. Madhu Sharma and participated in the Quiz along with an interesting activity on climate clock. Students were enlightened by Mr. Chetan Solanki, Ms. Deepali Upadhyay-Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Mr. Abhejit Agarwal- Head of Sustainability and CSR, Axis Bank Limited, and Dr. N. Kalaiselvi- DG, CSIR. They discussed extensively on climate change. The students were introduced to the 1/3 AMG rule of Mr. Chetan Solanki which translates avoiding, minimizing, and generating 1/3 of the current energy usage. He explained that we need to limit our consumption and localize our production. The workshop emphasized that we human beings are responsible for the climate change, moreover, it urged on the importance of taking steps to minimize activities which are having a negative impact on the planet and how government policies alone are insufficient.

        Visit to National Museum
             VISIT TO NATIONAL MUSEUM 
        A person without the knowledge of his past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots. 
          The Social Science department of the OPG World School organized an Educational Trip to the National Museum to sensitize students about their culture and instill the feeling of a proud citizen of India. The trip was conducted on April   
          15,2023 for Grade VI and XII.
          The objective of the trip to create enriching, interactive experiences that cater to students of all learning styles and expose them to diverse perspectives is commendable. The museum is an excellent place to learn about history and 
          culture as it provides a rich and immersive learning experience. The students participated with enthusiasm. It was an attempt to sensitize the kids about the rich and varied heritage of our country.

          FESTIVAL OF INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

           

          The students of classes X-XII went on an educational trip to Rashtrapati Bhavan on 13th April 2023 to be a part of the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE). The Rashtrapati Bhavan fair was an immersive platform for students to showcase their ingenuity and scientific prowess, with a diverse range of exhibits and inventions on display that captured the imagination of all who attended. The curiosity inside them was ignited and they were thrilled to see technology being applied by people in their everyday lives. Many people gathered under a roof to execute their innovations and ideasThestudents here learned not only about the problems people face but also how science helps in overcoming them. They discovered stalls that taught them about high-yielding seed varieties (HYV) and the new advancements in technology being applied to something as simple as a handloom or ordinary sunglasses. Through the science exhibition, students were able to witness the transformative power of science first-hand, as they explored innovative solutions to complex problems and gained a deeper appreciation for the boundless potential of scientific discovery.

          Overall, educational visits are an important component of the modern education system. They provide students with a unique and valuable learning experience that can have a lasting impact on their academic and personal development. It was an enthralling experience for our students!
