Exploring Journalism: NIE Summer Training Editorial Program

Anushka Sinha, a Class 9D student of OPG World School, is attending a week long Times NIE Summer Training Editorial Program (26 to 30 May 2025) at Bal Bharati School, Old Rajinder Nagar, along with over 100 students from various schools in and around Delhi. Led by senior editor Ms. Pratigyan Das, the sessions cover reporting, news analysis, and interviews, with interactive activities like newspaper evaluation and mock press conferences. The students engage with industry experts, explore media trends, and will visit Mirchi Station in the final days (29 and 30 May 2025) to understand journalism and reporting firsthand. The program concludes with a Certificate of Honour for participants. As the sessions unfold, we eagerly anticipate the knowledge, insights, and inspiration it will bring to these young minds, shaping their understanding of media and storytelling.

    Aahana Gupta of Class 2E Wins Double Gold in Roller Skating

    We are proud to announce that Aahana Gupta of Class 2E secured first position in two major roller skating competitions — the Open Roller Skating Competition at Dwarka International School on 18th May 2025, and the Inter-School Roller Skating Championship at Pitampura on 25th May 2025.

    Competing in the 6–8 years inline skate category, Ahana displayed exceptional talent and determination. Her success is a reflection of her hard work and the constant support from her mentors and the school.

      Embracing Compassion and Inclusion

      Students from Classes X to XII visited three NGOs—Social Vision, Saarthak Prayas Second Innings, and Don Bosco. They engaged with special children, the elderly, and underprivileged youth through hand painting, dancing, meditation, games, and a basketball match. These heartfelt interactions nurtured empathy, gratitude, and social responsibility. The visits offered valuable life lessons and emotional connections, making it a truly enriching experience that left a lasting impact on all participants.

        International Youth Forum Report (May 19-23, 2025)

        Over three days at the IT Lab, students engaged in sessions on cultural practices, effective communication, identity, leadership, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Activities included sharing cultural greetings, practicing cross-country communication, and creating identity maps. Focused discussions on SDGs—Climate Action, Reduced Inequalities, and Clean Water & Sanitation—encouraged creative problem-solving, such as energy conservation and waste recycling. Students explored stereotypes, global citizenship, and were inspired by a UN Youth Volunteer guest speaker. Collaborative presentations and breakout discussions fostered global awareness, responsibility, and empowered youth to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development and cultural understanding.

          Film making and App Development Workshop

          To spark creativity and equip students with future-ready skills, engaging 3-Day Workshops on App Development and Film Making were organized for Classes VI to X. In the App Development Workshop, students dived into the world of coding with MIT App Inventor, creating real-time mobile apps like a Language Translator, Pedometer, Chatbot, and Image Bot. They also took on exciting challenges by designing a Voice Modulation App and developing fun games like Flappy Bird and Spaceship Battle. Meanwhile, the Film Making Workshop gave students a chance to explore video editing with Wondershare Filmora. From basic edits to advanced tools like green screen effects, transitions, titles, audio syncing, and color grading, students transformed raw clips into powerful short films. Both workshops turned young learners into confident creators, blending technology with imagination and storytelling.

            A Shining Gold in Skating Championship

            We are proud to announce that Reyan Bag of class III B has brought great honor to our school by winning a Gold Medal in the 2nd Manomay Inter School Roller Skating Championships 2025, held on 18th April 2025 at Delhi International School, Dwarka.

            Reyan competed in the Inline Skating category in the U-9 age group, showcasing incredible skill and determination. Congratulations, Reyan!

              Outstanding Achievement in Roller Skating Championship

              Yajas Gupta (Class VI-C) and Khushee Gupta (Class III-B) have secured *first place* in the *Oxelo Roller Skating Championship Tournament*. Organized by Decathlon Play and Rollinround Skating Academy, the tournament featured fierce competition. Yajas triumphed in the 8–10 yearscategory, while Khushee dominated the 6–8 years category. Their remarkable skill and dedication brought them this well-earned victory, making their school and family proud. Congratulations to both champions!

                Pratyaksh Agaria Shines at State-Level Abacus Competition

                We are proud to share that Pratyaksh Agaria, a bright student of Class 5A, has brought laurels to the school by securing the 1st Runner-up Trophy in the Level 2 State-Level Delhi Abacus Competition. His remarkable performance is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and sharp mental math skills. The award ceremony was a moment of pride and celebration for all.

                  Empowering Young Minds Through Digital Citizenship

                  The school’s Digital Citizenship Program empowered students to navigate the online world responsibly. Through interactive sessions, case studies, and hands-on projects, students explored internet safety, cyber ethics, and digital privacy. They developed critical thinking and ethical decision-making skills, learning to identify online threats and evaluate content credibility. Creative posters on cybercrime and digital footprints reflected their understanding. This initiative successfully equipped students with essential skills and values, helping them become informed, responsible digital citizens ready for the digital age.

                    A Day Behind the Badge: Class VIII Visits Dwarka Police Station

                    On May 8, 2025, Class VIII students visited Dwarka Sector 23 Police Station. Head Constable Ms. Sarita welcomed them and explained complaint procedures and online safety. The students explored the malkhana, learned about case file storage, and interacted with ASI Satish Yadav, who answered their questions. The visit ended with a thank-you card and plant gifted to the SHO. The experience offered students valuable insights into police duties and civic responsibility.

                      Annual Dance and Music Odyssey

                      An inter-house dance competition was hosted in the school on 10th May, 2025. Mesmerizing solo and group performances showcased the students' talent and enthusiasm. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Isha Arora and Ms. Anubha Bajaj, as the esteemed judges for the day. Students exhibited a spirited competition on the stage as they represented their house, putting energy, passion, and weeks of hard work into the event. After a tough competition, yellow house emerged victorious.

                      The same day Annual Inter House Music Event also was organised with great enthusiasm and reverence. Themed around the harmony of contrasts—light and shadow, good and evil—the event featured performances that explored the emotional depth and duality of music. Esteemed alumni Ms. Anubha Bajaj and Ms. Deblina Nanda were felicitated and appreciated for their artistic achievements. Performances included house renditions of iconic songs such as Knocking on Heaven’s Door, Skyfall, Crawling, and Hallelujah, along with solo instrumental and vocal pieces. The OPG School Band’s rendition of Sweet Child O’ Mine and a captivating performance by Ms. Deblina were among the highlights. After thoughtful evaluation, Red house was declared the winner.

                        Advik Negi Shines at Taekwondo Championship

                        Advik Negi of class 2E, participated in the Taekwondo Championship held on 11 May and showcased outstanding skill and determination. Competing with great spirit, he secured the silver medal in his category, making everyone proud. This achievement reflects his hard work and passion for the sport. His performance has inspired his peers and set a high standard. Congratulations to Advik for his well-deserved success!

                          Archit Jain Excels at 19th Delhi State UCMAS Abacus Competition

                          Archit Jain, a brilliant young talent from Class II C of OPG World School, secured the 1st Runner-Up Trophy at the 19th Delhi State Level UCMAS Abacus Competition. Competing against skilled participants from across the state, Archit showcased exceptional mental math skills, sharp focus, and remarkable confidence. His achievement highlights his dedication and the supportive learning environment at his school. Impressively, he answered 200 questions in just 8 minutes!

                            Arsh Khatri Shines at RSA Cup 2025

                            Arsh Khatri, Class VI-B, delivered an outstanding performance at the RSA Cup 2025, a prestigious football tournament held from April to May 2025 at Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi. 
                            Demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication, Arsh secured the 2nd position in the tournament. He was also honoured with the Best Player Award in the Under-10 age group, a testament to his talent and sportsmanship on the field.

                            We wish him continued success in his sporting journey.

                              History Comes Alive for Humanities Students at PM Sangrahalaya

                              On 5th May 2025, Grade XI and XII Humanities students visited the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya, New Delhi. Through interactive exhibits, they explored key events like the Emergency, Green Revolution, Chandrayaan-3, and India’s constitutional journey. They also learned about leaders like Nehru, Shastri, Desai, and Indira Gandhi. The engaging storytelling and modern displays made history memorable, proving Rudyard Kipling's words true — if taught as stories, history is never forgotten.

                                Kathputli Kahani Vachan
                                विद्यालय में कठपुतली कहानी वाचन कार्यक्रम का आयोजन- 
                                 
                                "आज दिनांक 8 मई 2025 को हमारे विद्यालय में एक विशेष 'कठपुतली कहानी वाचन' कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इस रोचक और शिक्षाप्रद आयोजन में बच्चों ने पारंपरिक लोककथाओं को कठपुतली प्रदर्शन के माध्यम से जीवंत होते देखा।
                                 
                                आदरणीय प्रधानाचार्य महोदया के सानिध्य और मार्गदर्शन में आज का यह विशेष कठपुतली कहानी वाचन कार्यक्रम प्रारंभ हुआ। 
                                 
                                तत्श्चात नीला, लाल, पीला और हरा सभी सदनों के छात्रों ने सुंदर और रंग-बिरंगी कठपुतलियों के माध्यम से रोचक कहानियाँ प्रस्तुत कीं। इन प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से बच्चों ने नारीवाद, नैतिक शिक्षा, मित्रता, साहस और ईमानदारी जैसे जीवन मूल्यों का संदेश भी दिया।
                                 
                                बच्चों ने इस कार्यक्रम में पूरे उत्साह और आनंद के साथ भाग लिया। प्रधानाचार्या महोदया और शिक्षकों ने भी इस पहल की सराहना की और इसे बच्चों के सर्वांगीण विकास हेतु लाभकारी बताया।
                                 
                                कार्यक्रम का समापन धन्यवाद ज्ञापन के साथ हुआ। यह आयोजन न केवल मनोरंजक रहा, बल्कि विद्यार्थियों के आत्मविश्वास, अभिव्यक्ति क्षमता और रचनात्मकता को भी प्रोत्साहित करने वाला सिद्ध हुआ।"

                                  Global Youth Forum 2025 – Session 3

                                  Held on 6 May, the third session of the Global Youth Forum focused on Presentation Skills under Module 11. Participants showcased their final projects on global issues, with our school highlighting waste generation and the Trashion Show—an initiative that drew praise for its creativity and sustainability. Students applied the CLEAR model and engaged in peer feedback across international schools, making it an enriching, collaborative experience that emphasized global responsibility and confident communication.

                                    Seminar on Careers by PRATHAM Test Prep

                                    On 1st May 2025, OPG World School hosted an insightful seminar conducted by PRATHAM Test Prep. The session was led by Mr. Binit Binod and focused on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), shedding light on the application process, important timelines, and top universities. Students also gained valuable knowledge about emerging career options and the changing trends in higher education. The interactive seminar helped clarify doubts and guided students in making informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.

                                      Spreading Joy: NGO Visits – 26 April 2025

                                      As part of the Outreach Program, students of OPG World School visited various NGOs, fostering connections through music, games, and heartfelt interactions. At Don Bosco Ashalayam, they participated in performances and sports, while Empowering Humanity brought creative learning to underprivileged children. They bonded with senior citizens at Godhuli and Second Innings and engaged in art and laughter with differently abled children at Social Vision, embracing empathy and social responsibility.

                                        Career Awareness Session on Company Secretaryship

                                        On May 2nd, 2025. A Career Awareness Program was held for the Start-up Club, led by Mr. Sudhanshu, a distinguished ICSI member and parent. He shared insights into the Company Secretary (CS) course, its roles, responsibilities, and career scope. The interactive session inspired students through real-life experiences and practical guidance. Mr. Sudhanshu also discussed start-up ideas under CSR. The program motivated students to explore diverse career paths and plan their futures effectively.

                                          IHE Hindi Vaad Vivaad Pratiyogita

                                          अंतर्सदनीय वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता

                                          दिनांक 24 अप्रैल को ओ.पी.जी. वर्ल्ड स्कूल में एक अंतर्सदनीय वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया। प्रतियोगिता का विषय था – "सोशल मीडिया इन्फ्लुएंसर जनता को गुमराह करते हैं।" यह विषय विद्यार्थियों के लिए अत्यंत समसामयिक और विचारोत्तेजक रहा। सभी सदनों के प्रतिभागियों ने पूरे आत्मविश्वास और तर्कशक्ति के साथ अपने पक्ष और विपक्ष में विचार प्रस्तुत किए।

                                          प्रतियोगिता में हरा सदन से कक्षा 9 'डी' के ओजस्वीर सिंह ने प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया। द्वितीय स्थान लाल सदन से कक्षा 9 'डी' के आर्यन कपूर को प्राप्त हुआ। तृतीय स्थान हरा सदन से कक्षा 10 'सी' के दिव्यांश ने प्राप्त किया।

                                          इस प्रतियोगिता के माध्यम से छात्रों की अभिव्यक्ति क्षमता, तार्किक सोच और मंच पर बोलने का आत्मबल विकसित हुआ। निर्णायकों ने प्रतिभागियों के प्रयासों की सराहना की और उन्हें आगे भी इस प्रकार की गतिविधियों में भाग लेने के लिए प्रेरित किया।

                                            Celebrating Sporting Spirit: Inter-House Competitions

                                            Exciting and thrilling Inter-House Basketball (Girls) and Soccer (Boys) competitions in April–May 2025 for classes VI to XII were conducted. Enthusiastic participation from all four houses – Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow – brought out the best in teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship. Green House won the middle school basketball title, Red House triumphed in the senior girls' basketball final, and Yellow House secured first place in the boys' soccer tournament. The events inspired unity, energy, and healthy competition.

                                              Student Council Elections

                                              OPG World School recently conducted its Student Council elections for selecting the Head Boy and Head Girl for the academic session 2025–26.

                                              The election witnessed enthusiastic participation from the shortlisted candidates — Bhavya Sharma, Tapur Gupta, Tanmay Arora, and Divyam Gupta — who delivered compelling and well-articulated speeches, outlining their vision and explaining why they were best suited for the leadership roles. Their addresses aimed to highlight their commitment to representing the student body with integrity and responsibility.
                                              Students from Grades 10 to 12, along with faculty members, exercised their democratic right by casting their votes through a formal ballot system, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process. The event fostered a spirit of responsibility, and civic participation within the school community.
