English Week
OPG World School observed ‘English Writing Week’ for Classes VI to XII from 8th April 2019 to 12th April 2019 where sessions for polishing the writing skills were organised, along with fun-filled activities. An array of writing activities like Spin-a-yarn, String-a-verse, Article Writing with a Science theme was conducted with the motive to enhance the vocabulary, language skills and make learning more enjoyable.
IHE English Week was celebrated in the month of July. The Elocution competition had students of Classes VII and VIII, wherein Sugandha Verma Aswal and Maayra Ahuja of Green house bagged the first position. A Debate was organised for Classes XI and XII, wherein Shawyong of Red house bagged the first position. The War of Words was divided into three categories- Class VI, Classes VII and VIII, Classes IX and X. Green house emerged as the winner in the first category, Yellow house bagged the first position in the second category and Blue house emerged as the winner in the third category.
In conclusion, English Week 2019-20 was truly purposeful. After all, in an increasingly interconnected and globalised world, the importance of learning English cannot be denied. Thus it is vital that students cultivate a positive learning attitude and perception towards English to ensure higher levels of proficiency and understanding
