      THOUSAND LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES

SO THAT OUR COUNTRY BREATHES THIS DAY

      NEVER FORGET THEIR SACRIFICE

      HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

OPG World School takes keen interest in celebrating festivals of national interest in all its grandeur and so celebrated India’s 72nd Independence Day with zeal and spirit befitting the
occasion. The school was beautifully decorated with a tri-color ensemble. Vice Chairperson Ms. Neena Chandra and distinguished parents-guests from the military and the paramilitary background, graced the occasion. Indian tricolor was unfurled in the school field in the morning, preceded by the National Anthem.  The ever-so-cheerful primary wing students welcomed everyone with their patriotism-filled Independence Day wishes. The decoration in the school auditorium was a significant metaphor to the event. The audience was so enthralled by the school choir’s presentation of patriotic songs that they couldn’t help humming. The highlight of the program was a dance enactment of an Indian soldier’s life and struggle. It urged today's generation to value the freedom we have secured after the sacrifices of many. It was a magnificent showcasing of how the uniformed forces have achieved the pinnacle of sacrifice in fighting left wing extremism, terrorism, infiltration and elements disturbing peace. This colorful presentation received much deserved applause from the audience present. The event concluded with the National Oath by the head girl of the school; to change the state, go beyond the great storms to protect the nation and respect the Men in Uniform. It is only then can we once again call ourselves the The Golden Bird.
